Portfolio - Musselburgh Fair Day Association
The Brief
The client wanted a site presenting the annual harness horse racing taking place in Musselburgh, Scotland. The site must present clear directions to the race course, hold the result of each race and have a news section.
An important point for the client was the possibility to edit the site without our intervention. They required the ability to add/remove/edit news themselves, as well as administrate the race results in real time.
The Implementation
A big part of the website is the administration zone. As per the clients requirements, most of the site is manageable by them.
The client can manage news (add/remove/edit). News is automatically added to the home page, to the news page and to the site map.
The results can be added manually and the staff usually add them as the race results are announced.
Newsletter management is another big part of the administration zone. Users can subscribe to the regular mailing written by the Musselburgh Fair Day Association. Thanks to the administration zone, administrators can add or remove subscribers (wrong email address's for example, or address's misspelled). More importantly, administrators can design an HTML newsletter, thanks to an online WYSIWYG editor. Without any additional software, administrators can therefore create a very good looking newsletter, in keeping with the site look and feel, and without any technical knowledge.
